Gert Löhmer

After my time as a naval officer and as a graduate engineer in mechanical engineering, I was able to observe and accompany for several years in medium-sized mechanical and plant engineering from the second row how managers and external consultants restructured/restructured distressed companies in which I was an employee. In this way, I learned what worked and what didn't, how the "team" thought and felt, how what was communicated by whom and which role the consultants took over with what effect. However, I very often missed the necessary structure and attention in communication and in the management of insecure people in crisis-ridden companies.
Finally, a personnel consultant convinced me that I, as a conspicuous "nine-timer", should contribute to restructuring in various companies myself. This was probably quite successful, first at department level, then as a division manager and finally as an interim managing director and independent consultant.

After more than 40 years of professional experience, most of which as a manager with a restructuring mandate or consultant, I offer creative, value-adding services for companies. I have now documented an important part of my knowledge and experience in a book. AI, digitalization, variable supply chains and changed communication behavior, the effects of the corona crisis and now the dramatic consequences of the Ukraine crisis are changing all areas of the manufacturing industry very quickly and very significantly.

For my clients, I offer my many years of experience along the entire service and value chain of a manufacturing, technology-oriented company combined with creativity, an affinity for technology and sales, curiosity and philanthropy.
In a crisis situation, it is mentally very difficult for both the company management and the workforce to "pull the lever" and actively shape their own future.

In my experience, rehabilitating/restructuring a manufacturing company does not "only" require many key figures, but to the same extent, experience, empathy, attention and – very important:
Common sense, appreciation, authentic communication and creativity.

The typical restructurer/restructurer works – correctly – with many business key figures and solution techniques, based on expert opinions according to IDW S6 and S11, process specifications, KPI ́s, etc. Knowledge of this is indispensable. At the same time, however, many soft facts are noticeably underestimated in practice and the aforementioned key figures are often adhered to too rigidly.

My offer is characterized by the fact that the function and importance of all stakeholders as well as all processes are really understood. On this broad basis, a positive result is achieved faster and better with a lot of creativity, with concentrated, authentic communication and proactive "Motipulation" in all directions.
